[googlefont="Michroma"][googlefont="Hind"] As to be expected, high ranks are very important in any given pack and often play a very crucial role in the pack's activity and story. Therefore, we do have set rules and expectations for all high ranks on VV.
Activity. All high ranks of any level are very important roles in packs, so being an active member and poster is a must. If you end up playing a character with a high rank and then go inactive, your wolf may be demoted from their position. 2 years roleplaying experience. Given the importance of high ranks, we want to have the assuredness that someone who plays a high rank has been writing/roleplaying for a good while and are not brand new to the writing scene. One active character. We ask that if you want to apply to become a high rank that you already have at least one accepted and active character on site already. - 2 months activity. For the sake of knowing that you are someone who intends to stay with us, we would prefer that anyone looking to play a high rank is an active member of the site for at least 2 months.
Pack Leaders vs. High Ranks On VV we have 2 categories of important pack roles: Pack Leaders and High Ranks. Pack Leaders, as the name suggests, are the Leaders of the packs and therefore the wolves in charge of the pack. High Ranks, on the other hand, are wolves who do play an important role in the pack, but do not lead it, such as a second-in-command or a healer, or any of the unique ranks within each given pack.
- Pack Leaders
Pack Leaders are some of the most important wolves in any pack, which means that they must be active characters who uphold any and all of the duties that come with the rank. Leaders are essentially representatives of their respective packs, and therefore must make appearances when those of the packs gather together. Leaders make most of the important decisions within their packs, which allows said wolves and their owners to have very heavy influence on any plots and storylines that may happen inside or with the pack. Any given member is only allowed to play 1 Pack Leader.
- High Ranks
Although High Ranks aren't as important as Pack Leaders, they do still hold importance of their own and have their own duties within their packs that they must uphold and represent. Leaders are essentially representatives of their respective packs, and therefore must make appearances when those of the packs gather together. Just like pack Leaders, high ranks must be active wolves within their respective packs. Any given member is only allowed to play 2 High Ranks, and they may not be in the same pack as your Pack Leader, if you play one. - Band Leaders: A special case, it is possible for Bands of wolves to form within the valley, in which said Bands often have a "Leader" of some sort. While them having the title Leader may first suggest that they should be considered Pack Leaders, Bands are not the same as Packs. Therefore, Band Leaders are only considered High Ranks. Band Leaders have the potential to become Pack Leaders in the future, though, if the Band should ever wish to go down that path and if the player of said Band Leader does not already play a Pack Leader.
- Within the packs and guilds there are a variety of high ranks with a variety of roles, many of which are different. Here is a list of ranks considered high ranks within each group and their summarized duties:
Vertok - Sanzin - Aces: Personal guards and general favorites to the Suit, these wolves accompany the Suit almost everywhere and hold authority only second to the Suit. There are 4 of them, each with specialized roles based on their skills. - Kings: Commanders of their respective trades, these wolves make sure that those of their trade stay in line and break no laws. There are a total of 4 of them, one for each trade. - Queens: Second-in-commands to the Kings, the Queens also hold authority over their respective trades and often either play the role of King when the Kings can't or do the work that the Kings do not wish to. There are 4 of them, one for each trade. Au'Dar - Optio: Second in command to the Centurion, they act as the Centurion's personal advisor and are overall in charge of the Hunter and Warrior trades. - Anima: Considered the pack Seer, this wolf acts as another personal advisor to the Centurion, are overall in charge of the Gatherer, Shepherd, and Healer trades, and hold the closest bond with all of the pack's tafa. - Avant Gardes: Considered the most skilled of the pack, these wolves hold control over each of the 5 trades, answering directly to the Optio or the Anima depending on their trade. Mercurior - Cause: Second in command and personal advisor to the Lord, this wolf acts as almost a smaller Lord within the guild when the guild is not gathered together. - Grands: The most skilled wolves of the guild, these wolves hold control over their respective trades and are the most expensive to hire out. There are 4 of them, one per trade.
